Crop Royale - weekend In Sydney

Well what a weekend, an absolutely wonderful weekend and a must to put on the calender for next year. I will start at the beginning shall I!! hang on, has everyone got a cup of tea or coffee you will need it!! Friday night went to the airport with miss Debs (chauffeur driven by my lovely Pete and son JJ) The flight was delayed by about 45 mins, however we made the most of it had some dinner and Debs tried to pick up a guy....... yep any guy (no seriously she was a little picky and couldn't find one) finally it was time to board and a little goodbye kiss to the fam and we were off, it was a good flight and going over Sydney by night was quite spectacular, (and there was no camera in sight, I told Debbie to keep hers down lol) The wonderful Miss Lorraine B (Her Royal Majesty's Tours) was there to greet us with the lovely Miss Loretta herself. Chatting all the way back to Lorraine's and when we got there we were given red wine and got stuck in to helping her pack kits, yep we had a late one. Up early Sat morning got ready, packed the car and off we go for a great day...yee hah and long awaited for I might add, we got to the location of Crop Royale itself, a little shop called Fantasia, and when we walked in I was gobsmacked the shop was huge and so full of wonderful goodies it took awhile for me to lift my jaw. What a wonderful start to the day, huge shop, lovely staff and great people, all waiting to start a scrap filled day. There were four lovely girls from Maitland in there coordinated printed T's looking like little princess with all the added bling. So, Set up begun, registration begun and then classes, the classes were amazing, and the kits were amazing so much product (luckily I took an extra suitcase) we were sooo spoilt, and let me say the teachers were exhilarating and we managed some serious scrapping, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, supper were all scrumptous and delightful. Lollies on every table chocolate bars thrown at you.... so much food, let me tell you, we rolled out of there. Prizes, prizes and more prizes Lorraine and the girls were giving these away prizes every 1/2 hour all day and all night (thanks to the wonderful sponsors) I was very tired come 11pm and my brain wasn't functioning very well, but still on a high from a tremendous day, packed the car back up and headed back to Lorraine's where the four of us sat and chatted about the day over a coffee on the back veranda. Sunday morning Lorraine woke us at about 9.30 and her wonderful hubby had cooked everyone bacon and eggs on the BBQ for breakfast, and after breakfast he took us for a spin in the Mazda convertible (check out the photo,I look good in it, don't I)I told you we were spoilt. Then we met up with a few of the girls and headed to Yum Char, we were the dumb char's at the yum char's and ate ourselves silly..... Now did I happen to mention to anyone that I was and the ultimate word here being was on a diet!!! after lunch it was off to Bondi Beach for the arvo................ WOW and guess who we had photo's with, Yep you guessed it the guys from Bondi Rescue itself, yummmo (and yep Miss Debs tried to take on of them home too) Traffic on the way back leaving Bondi was horrendous but as always and never failing Miss Debs made sure the trip home was entertaining to say the least, It started Lorraine mentioning how lovely these purple flowers were on the medium strip, to Me mentioning that Pete would love a cutting of them to grow in the garden. Well Miss Debs was off, out of the car over to the medium strip, bum in the air and taking pieces of this plant and back in the car, than she proceeded to do it again this time she thought she would give the car beside us some cuttings as well and yep you guessed it, it was a car full of guys and she was even giving them planting and growing tips (seriously do you really think they were interested) shortly after that she just strolled up to some random guy walking along minding his own business and pulled on his towel, he jumped 20 feet and than she told hime she just needed to light her smoke(it was a bit windy), must have said a few other words as he walked off with the biggest smile on his face, as if that was the best think that had happened to him that day. In to the city to drop off the Miss Loretta as she was spending Sunday night in the city and doing some sight seeing on Monday before going home on Monday night, than onwards back to the lovely Miss Lorraines where darling hubby had made a gergeous roast for dinner.... yum yum, played with computer and than a must do early evening. Monday up early and the very lovely herself Miss Sherry took us to the airport, so then it was back home to tell all, of the wonderful adventures and people met. The absolute biggest biggest huggs and kisses to the wonderful Baite family for the wonderful hospitality we were shown thank you for sharing your family and opening your doors for us, my home is always open for you guys and thank you for showing me that there are still beautiful people out there, and to the lovely Miss Loretta its was so nice to meet you and I can't wait to catch up again...........Bring on Crop Royale 2009........Yooh Hooooo!!!! Both Miss Debs and I are there with bells on.

Its about time

I know its been a long time a very long time since I last posted, I have been soo busy, with work, family trying to catch up with friends and going away. So whats been happening? I have been away on a great weekend to Port Macaque catching up with family and friends. It was so great to catch up with you Karen, and thanks for letting us stay as always:) and can't wait till Christmas when I spend a week down there! Have been catching up with friends for lunch, and even a great crop day, it was so nice to see Briohny again and share some great laughs and whats even better is that we don't have to keep on swimming anymore - lol and it was good to see Peta and Jan too:) I taught my last two classes at Scrapbook Princess and thought they went really well and would just like to say thank you to the girls for sharing my last class and making it special. As sadly this month I resigned from teaching at Scrapbook Princess - time was a big factor......... well lack of it anyway. Thanks to the push from Jan I booked into the wonderful day with Heidi Swapp and just can't wait. Can't wait to be taught by her, can't wait to sit with the wonderful Jan and Ruth, Debbie and Lorraine and Donna. Great friends in the scrapping world make a big difference and these gals make you realise that they are still out there. (wish you were coming Briohny Have just had a great weekend in Sydney, but I'm leaving that for a separate post and will add some photos. My sister has been doing some huge reno's at her house so I spent a morning with her picking tiles, its always nice spending time (when I have time) with my sister and I wish we had more times together sometimes. its really funny because we either see each other all the time or very rarely. she really is a special person and I am so proud of all the hard work she puts in around her home, being a single mum can be so stressful sometimes...... but she pulls it off rather well. Pete and I celebrated our 8th year anniversary together, wow now that eight years have flown, and I still love him more everyday, and I am so grateful and lucky to have someone like him in my life. Ok now this is all getting a little mushy so i'll just leave it there!! and don't forget to come back soon for my weekend away on Sydney post and photo's

Ciao

Another Week Come and Gone

Well I am almost 3 weeks old in my new job now, and feeling alot more settle. WOW I cannot believe we are in March already, soon it will be christmas again - I best start shopping(lol). We just had a weekend in Port Macquarie (again) as it was our nices 1st birthday, we last saw her at christmas and what a difference those couple of months make at christmas she was hardly crawling and now she is running every where... So very cute! Every time we go down its such a long hearl and so nice to be home, but this time after spending a wonderful Sunday on the beach and headland I just wanted to stay there, and if I had my way I probably would have.
My darling middle child (Naomi) got her licence, how scarey I must say... for me not for her, she's loving it!! The freedom, The independence, It makes me feel old, i only have one more to go, it makes me want to cry and celebrate all at once.

Yay for Me......

For those who know me, know that this week I began a new job, I forgot what a scarey place it is when your not in comfort zone, Monday I hated it and didn't want to go back, Tuesday I felt sick just going there on the train... I was the new kid on the block and I just wanted to go home, however Wednesday was a little better and come Friday I knew that, I am just going to love it there. It's amazing the process of it all and how quickly we forget what it's like, I went through the oh no what have I done, to the yep I made the right disscission, At the end of day it didn't really matter, because everything in life is a gamble, if we don't take chances and if we don't make mistakes than we never learn and we never grow, so yay for me I made it through my first week.

Today I poped into the wonderful Scrapbook princess, and all the girlies were there scrapping away, I was only poping in for a quick selection of goodies for my upcoming class's and a few hours later and trying to walk out with a few free extra goodies as well but Deb wouldn't share.(so unfair Deb!) How amazing was the work there today, awesome stuff, from cards to double layouts to Briohny stitching away on the machine to create some fabulous masterpice, and good laughs all round. For those that have never been to a crop day at the princess, you should really go along you will be amazed with the ideas floating around the room and you will have a great time with some pretty awesome girls, so mark the next one on your calender now.

Well I best go and attempt to scrap something for the upcoming calender otherwise Mel will be out with that whip again, and let me tell you it hurts........ lol

Thanks again for reading and until next time, I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful weekend and have a great week!!

The sun still comes up in the morning

One of the luckiest aspects of my job, is meeting some of the most fantastic people, two years ago when I statrted here I was fortunate enough to meet a lovely young women named Helen Johnson who was in one of the bridge groups who plays here at the club every Wednesday, and every Wednesday I grew to know and love her just that little bit more, she was such a vibrant, happy person with so many stories to share. At 97 she still lived on her own, played lawn bowles twice a week, visted the library and played bridge and you would not believe her age. Last year she turned 99 and her only son was planning her 100th birthday. Last week I learnt of her passing only the week prior. I was devasted to say the least, however was happy to hear it was quite quick. I believe her funeral was rather large and that her son spoke in great lenghth of her amazing life. The funeral was based on the celebraton and was bright and cheery. Whilst the sun still rises in the morning I would just like to say I miss you Helen, and you will always be rembered.

Can you see it

Yep I can see it, can you see it, have you looked closer, really really closer. Yes you got it, I have posted again. day 2, Im excited, yippee Im going strong now. However stay tuned for day 3 cause it will be even better!!!

However, I take a breath because I am going to get on a serious note.. today, after waking up and thinking OMG does it have to rain all the bloody time when Im not at work, can we just have one good sunny bright weekend. Well today I have been talking to a work collegue/friend as he was released out of hospital yesterday after having a brain bleed and a mild stroke, and will take a couple of months to recover and he is only in his early fourties, however whilst talking to him he was mostly telling me of the young man (25) who was in the bed next to him who was in a motorbike accident (not wearing a helmet) has 25 bleeds in the brain has lost his speach, however he still understands all that is said to him and cannot walk.

Wow really makes you sit up and notice everything around you, celebrate everyday, the sun is still shinning even when it is raining, and everyday is bright, look at what is around YOU and everything in you life.

Until later, enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a great Monday.... Thanks for looking.
